I'm at my friend's apartment. Everytime I pass by these units I think of the polar bears losing their land. This looks gross to me. It makes me feel lonely because when I express my ideals people think this is a justified evil. It's not like I'm not running my air too. Just all of them together make me sad. Today my therapist gave me homework. She wants me to take pictures of things that remind me of loneliness. So, this is the first one. It's lonely because naturally the owner is missing the pet. I'm laying here in my cell. Can't sleep. I keep thinking of these kids. They are the loudest mouthed of the whole bunch. When dinner was served they were both on the phone. The officer took care in placing their trays by them, but not on the floor, and before he allowed the rest of us to get our food. When they got off the phone they both immeditaly dumped their trays in the trash. Then they, me course, had endless questions for the officer. I saw the look on the faces of the inmates in orange. They have been here for weeks. And they were much more hungry than I was. The food is not only bad, but scarce. I also saw the look on the officer's face. I wished I could yell at them about empathy. Or maybe beat it into them. But somehow I don't think they would or even could hear me.

I was sitting in my cell, wondering what I should take a picture of and suddenly I noticed this on the wall. It's dated 02-12-07. For you all following my jail posts, that was the first day I served. That struck me as ironic, or is it iconic. Next week is my last week and it's only one day. I'm so excited, I feel like today is my last. I'm going to miss it some how. I haven't quiet realized how yet. I'll tell you next week.

Today was an exciting day. We were told that the sheriff was coming to do an inspection and that the sheriff of Fulton County was coming because Fulton county needed a overhaul. We were all supposed to stand by our cell doors when it was inspection time. The time rolled around and we all went and stood. I was anxious they might search us randomly and find all of my contraband (phone, iPod, sleep aid, and ear plugs.) But turns out it wasn't a tour for the sheriff it was a tour for an elementary class. They all lined up along the window and stared at us. I hope we all made good examples for them. I always felt I would be a good role model. I hope I was today.

Last night for dinner we had corn, bread, cake, and mush with meat gravy. A man named Willie Young asked everyone for their left overs. He was only wearing pants and smelled like gasoline. At four this morning we had grits, meat gravy, egg product and bread. Again Willie got all the leftovers. By this time he had gotten a prison shirt and some slippers. I noticed his big toes didn't have any toe nails. He still smelled of gasoline. I wonder what happened to him. And what he did to arrive in jail shirtless, smelling like gas, and so hungry. Poor Willie.

Maybe the county will let him shower soon. Never get caught in Georgia. Especially if you're black.

Spring is here in full swing! So to give me a reason to go outside I have planted a few flowers outside. All of them in containers, since we do not know how much longer we will be at Murrary Hill. I absolutely love them all. But this snapdragon does not love me. Everyday I get home and it looks depressed. So I water it but it's only mildly amused. I don't know what is going on. I'm in Springfield for the weekend. Last night I met Shayna and a couple of her coworkers at a pool hall. I had my one drink to make me social.

A couple of hours later we decided to go to another bar. We all left in separate cars. On 6th Street we all stopped at a light and waved.

Suddenly, there was a cop with his lights on behind the coworker. He pulled her over and Shayna called me. We decided to go home. I was a little shaken.

Three hours and five stores later, we were in a Urban Outfitters and I was finally buying something. While in line, I saw several varieties of flasks that I wanted. I've been wanting a flask for a long time. Someone on supervision for a D.U.I. needs a convenient way to carry liquor around. So through some crafty working I mangaged to walk out with one in my hand. I was pretty proud of my accomplishment. Althought Claire thought it was unethical. I agree it is.

This weekend some Illinoisian's came to the ATL to visit. Miss Jennifer Minder is seen here engulfing a giant dong that a was part of a costume. I have a party of five today. They work for the American Cancer Society. They've been talking about personal things for awhile.

One man talked about how nice his house is since he installed different temperature zones. His bedroom is nice and toasty but he feels bad for his dog in the cold downstairs. I thought about how my own house attempted to not use the heat to save money. He was probably saving a bundle by being able to afford zoned heating.

Later the woman on the right said, "I grew up surrounded by culture." That made me think of my upbringing in Farmersville and the amount of culture. Is my upbringing not as valid as hers because it wasn't cultured.

They eventually talked about the problems with health care in America and ways we can fix it. They talked about how horrible it must be to not get proper health care. And I thought that maybe instead of having a bunch of rich white people sitting in Chili's, decided what to do with health care, maybe the people that need it should decided what to do. But alas that is probably a silly idea. That would be as crazy as rich people getting free stuff and tax breaks.

So, for the first time in three months, I own both keys to my car and a valid drivers license. But I won't be saying goodbye to my supportive buddy, Bike. I look forward to drunk adventures home with her.
